Analyser sample line: a functional alternative for a plastic filter housing
A system integrator needed 30 compact filters for natural-gas analysers. We proposed a nylon housing with a coalescing element as a functional alternative – and listed openly what still has to be checked.

Starting point
An integrator of analyser systems was looking for a replacement for an existing plastic coalescing filter in natural-gas sample lines. Pressure is close to atmospheric, flows are small, and space in the analyser cabinet is limited.
Task
Offer a compact filter with the same connection size and coalescing function, and make clear which installation details must be verified before ordering.
How we sized it
- 1
Match the operating window
RF-H-730N is a nylon housing with 1/4″ NPT, rated 7 bar and 50 °C – well above the sample-line conditions.
- 2
Coalescing element
RF-C-12057-HE (12 × 57 mm) removes liquid aerosol before it reaches the analyser.
- 3
Check the space
Height 125 mm, head width 40 mm, plus about 60 mm clearance below for removing the bowl.
Recommended configuration

Limits & open points
- Functional alternative – installation dimensions are confirmed on request.
- Drain thread and suitability for the vacuum part of the range (−5 psig) are clarified before ordering.
Result
A compact, ready-to-quote alternative with transparent open points, so the integrator can verify the fit before rolling it out to 30 analysers.
